Your Getting Started Guide

Welcome, traveler! Astronia is a galaxy-themed Towny SMP where you'll build towns, climb the ranks from Pluto to the Sun, earn your fortune, and make your mark among the stars. This guide will get you up and running.

🚀 Your First Steps

When you first join, you'll land at spawn. Here's what to do:

1. Head to the "Ascend to Earth" NPC and right-click it to teleport out into the survival world, where you can start building.
2. Join a job to start earning money (see Making Money below).
3. Find a spot to call home, or join an existing town.
4. Set your first home with /sethome so you can always get back.

🪐 Ranks — From Pluto to the Sun

Astronia has 10 ranks, themed after the planets. You climb them by earning money and ranking up:

Pluto → Mercury → Mars → Venus → Earth → Neptune → Uranus → Saturn → Jupiter → Sun

• Use /ranks to see every rank, what it costs, and what it unlocks.
• When you have enough money, use the rankup command to advance.
• Higher ranks unlock more player vaults, more homes, and other perks.
• Each rankup is celebrated server-wide — reach the Sun for a legendary send-off!

💰 Making Money

Money is the key to ranking up and building your town. Here's how to earn it:

Jobs

Join a job and get paid for doing what you already do — mining, farming, chopping wood, hunting mobs, and more.

• /jobs browse — see all available jobs
• /jobs join <job> — join a job 
• /jobs stats — check your progress and earnings
• The more you work a job, the higher your level and the more you earn!

Trading with Other Players

Astronia has a player-driven economy — trade with other players to make money:

• Player Shops — players set up chest shops to buy and sell goods
• Auction House — list your items for others to buy, or grab a deal
• /pay <player> <amount> — send money directly to another player

Check your balance anytime with /bal.

🏘️ Towny — Build Your Town

Astronia is a Towny server, so you can create or join towns and claim land to protect your builds.

• Join a town — ask around in chat or Discord; established towns are always looking for members.
• Create your own town — once you have enough money, found a town and start claiming land.
• Claimed land is protected — others can't build or grief inside your town without permission.
• Team up to form nations as your town grows!

Type /towny or /help towny to learn the town commands.

🏷️ Tags — Customize Your Chat

Show off your style with cosmetic tags that appear next to your name in chat.

• /tags — open the tag menu to see and equip your tags
• You automatically get a tag for your current rank
• Unlock special cosmetic tags (like Voyager and Stargazer) from crates!
• Switch between any tag you've unlocked whenever you like

🎁 Crates — Win Rewards

Astronia has three crate tiers, each with better rewards:

• Vote Crate — earn keys by voting for the server
• Meteor Crate — mid-tier rewards
• Asteroid Crate — premium rewards

Rewards include money, items, cosmetic tags, and more.

• Head to /warp crates to find the crate area
• Right-click a crate with the matching key to open it
• Keys are tradeable — you can sell or gift them to other players!

🗳️ Voting — Support the Server (and Get Rewarded!)

Voting helps Astronia grow and earns you rewards.

• Use /vote to see the voting links
• Each vote gives you a Vote Crate Key
• Vote daily to stack up keys and rewards!

💬 Discord — Stay Connected

Our Discord and in-game chat are fully linked — messages sent in one show up in the other.

• Link your account with /discord link in-game, then follow the instructions
• Once linked, your ranks sync to Discord automatically — donors and staff get special roles!

Donor ranks — Cosmic, Infrared, Celestial, and Galactic — come with perks like extra vaults, homes, cosmetic tags, exclusive commands, and crate keys. Everything sold is cosmetic or quality-of-life — we're committed to fair play for everyone.

• Set a home early with /sethome so you never lose your base.
• Join a job right away — it's the fastest way to start earning.

• Link your Discord to get your rank roles and stay in the loop.
